Food is Medicine
Every single plant we grow for food also has medicinal properties to some degree. Knowing and understanding how to use the different parts of the plant and how to much to eat it takes a lot of time and dedication. Anyone can do this really. If you take the time to have a relationship with plants it is easy to learn. Plants speak to us in so many ways. Often the shape of a leaf or color of a food that grows will indicate what kind of nutrients it is rich in and how it will benefit us.
Many of the leaves of edible plants can be drank as a tea and have medicinal benefits. For example, raspberry leaves and strawberry leaves are good for women to drink when they are pre-menstral and duration menstruation.
Mint leaves make a great herbal tea. You can boil the leaves in water fresh or dry them for storage. If you drink a lot of mint tea during mosquito season the mosquitos will not like the way you taste and hopefully if you drink enough of the tea will not be bothered by mosquitos.
Every leaf on each plant has its own distinct leaf print and can be used to identify plants during all stages of life.
